My name is George Christianos and I am the managing director of Opals By Emmanuel Christianos Pty Ltd. We have been in the open mining and wholesale business since the late 1950s and three generations ago. We started mining in Coober Pedy with my grandfather and in the 1970s my father moved the business to Mintabie in South Australia. In the late 1980’s and 1990’s, he added Lambina in South Australia. Later in the 1990’s, it was moved back to Coober Pedy as the permitted work area in Mintabie was not being expanded and the deposit and the permitted area no longer coincided. Around about the year 2009, I took over and moved the business to Lightning Ridge where we remain to this day, chasing that elusive black Opal. From 2009 through 2019, we maintained a fulltime sales and marketing office in Shenzhen, China, from where we partook in over 200 gem and jewellery exhibitions. Our online database is not available to the public. It's possible to give access if required with either no price data or with price data set at a multiple of the wholesale price.

Your level of access to our online database shows you the wholesale price. Your discount has not been calculated and will be deducted from this price on the final invoice.

The combined shopping cart/product comparison page allows you both to do a comparison of different items as well as to select items for memo or purchase. The memo or purchase will be done through the Nationwide Group even though the cart is submitted here online to let us know what goods are required and where the goods need to go.

As this website is expanded, we will be providing Opal knowledge and Opal marketing tools for some training and Opal familiarisation for your staff.

Leveraging the resources of the Nationwide group you will be able to order goods on memo for seven day so that you can consider, compare and show your client. (Subject to some limitations) This way you can hopefully sell the goods, book some jewellery fabrication work as well, all without having to commit to buying the stock until your client commits.
